What is the Manifesto for Responsible Tourism about?
At Asiri Marketing we love working with all kinds of tourism projects that have a responsible approach to the planet. We know that tourism is a transversal phenomenon that affects all living beings that inhabit the earth. In this way we wanted to do our bit to promote positive change and have recognition with tourism projects that work in a responsible and conscious way with the problems that affect us all.
In this way, at Asiri Marketing we have set out to promote a Manifesto for Responsible Tourism based on universal values, from our unique way of understanding tourism and aligned with the sustainability criteria promoted by institutions such as the GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) and the UNWTO (World Tourism Organization). We believe that this is the most positive formula for all of us who love and enjoy sustainable tourism. It is a declaration of intent and an approach that we make to our clients to work within a constructive and supportive line with all those agents involved in the tourist experience.
From Asiri Marketing we launch our manifesto built on 10 fundamental principles so that a tourism business can be competitive within values of responsibility and commitment to the planet. 10 principles of the Manifesto for Responsible Tourism

Local Development
Bet on the consumption of local products and services
The Manifesto for Responsible Tourism seeks to boost the economy of your destination by using local products and services as much as possible. Tourism is a cross-cutting activity and tourism businesses are an important link in the chain. As we strengthen the future of our destination, we will increase factors such as length of stay or the ability to provide feedback within the different businesses and entities that converge in the tourism ecosystem.

Working in Community
Respect values and traditions
It is essential that any type of tourism business promotes the culture and tradition of the host community. Aspects as important as customs, gastronomy, languages or dialects, traditions, heritage…
The Manifesto for Responsible Tourism seeks to promote tolerance and become a link between the traveler and local tradition. It should be one of the policies and intangibles that any tourism project must provide to the traveler and to the community itself.

Promote Conservation
Tool for efficient sustainability of the destination
Businesses that promote the conservation, protection and regeneration of the destination’s ecosystems, guaranteeing the sustainable exploitation of the destination’s aquatic and terrestrial resources and that respect the natural habitat of fauna and flora, avoiding animal abuse or destruction of the environment.
Promote collaboration with sanitation and cleaning activities promoted in the destination, so that there is efficient waste management that allows controlling the impact of tourism businesses in the area.

Respect for different ways of seeing the world
Businesses or projects that promote the elimination of barriers that may exist due to gender, origin, religion, sexual orientation, economic situation or any other condition that may arise. We trust in projects that avoid sexist language, offensive comments or the use of labels that contribute to negatively stereotyping any group.
Businesses that facilitate access and equal opportunities for those with different needs in terms of mobility and communication, respecting the spaces or services designated for their use in the tourist destination.

Awareness in Sustainability
Commitment to sustainable resource management
Businesses that are committed to the intelligent and efficient management and use of water and energy resources, consuming those that generate the least environmental impact and can be recyclable or reusable.
In the Manifesto for Responsible Tourism, we support businesses that promote not wasting water and minimise the traveller’s carbon footprint by encouraging the use of transport with reduced or zero polluting emissions.

Respecting Heritage and Infrastructure
Participate in the efficient management of the Heritage and Infrastructure offered by the destination
Pay attention to the different heritage resources as well as the infrastructures that manage them so that travelers can enjoy them and respect them when using them.
Promote and raise awareness of the destination’s tourist attractions, respecting the rules and accesses designed for the preservation and protection of the elements that make up the destination and its unique features.
